Project for the installation of DAS equipment in 5 luxury villas on the Costa del Sol for Nunsys Group

The national technology services group Nunsys Group has once again trusted Codipro’s technical team to carry out a project to amplify coverage areas inside a series of luxury residences in Benahavís, a town located on the Costa del Sol which, together with Marbella, is home to some of the most expensive luxury homes in Spain.

The challenge: coverage problems for mobile phones

It is common for certain rural areas to have mobile phone coverage problems. This issue is usually especially noticeable in areas full of valleys and mountains, as is the case in this town in the province of Málaga.

Many owners of homes in these types of areas choose to implement these technological solutions, known as DAS systems, Distributed Antenna Systems, to improve mobile coverage signal inside their property.

At the beginning of the project, Codipro’s technical team travelled to the area to carry out a signal measurement study, coverage, for the different mobile operators and to check the real needs of the site. The preliminary study clearly showed that there was a signal deficit, as well as differences in coverage quality between the different operators in this area.

After the site survey carried out by the technical team, where the needs of each scenario were clearly presented, Nunsys Group’s engineering team proceeded to design a tailor-made solution for each case, since the variables presented by each villa required fully individualised planning and design.

To implement the solution proposed by the integrator, an antenna with a high level of reception sensitivity is placed in the highest accessible area of each home. This antenna sends a signal to an amplifier located next to the home’s electrical installation panel. This amplified signal is then distributed across the different areas of the property through indoor wall-mounted antennas.

The next challenge for Codipro’s technical team was to meet the high level of requirements of this type of client and install the equipment with the least possible visual impact in order to preserve the carefully designed aesthetics of these residences. It should be remembered that in non-industrial projects, aspects such as finish and aesthetics play an important role.

The results: high level of coverage in all areas

Once the implementation was completed with a highly satisfactory result, the owners of these homes can now enjoy a high level of coverage in all areas, both indoors and outdoors, with practically no structural or visual impact.
