EMT Málaga awards Codipro the public mobility project for the implementation of 5G networks on buses

The Málaga Transport Company is the operator responsible for running the urban public bus network in the city of Málaga. With approximately 50 lines and a fleet of 261 buses, more and more services are being offered to users related to the location and status of each bus operating every day: route location, waiting times, payments, next stop, etc.

For all this to be possible, it is necessary to have real-time information on all the parameters of the bus fleet, which requires modern and reliable onboard communication systems. With this objective, EMT began a project in 2018 to update and modernise the systems responsible for onboard communications, which is now intended to be completed with the implementation of the new ticketing and SAE systems.

The scope of supply includes the most advanced Teltonika 4G communication routers, model RUT955, as well as 5-in-1 vehicle antennas that guarantee the best possible coverage for each wireless technology: Wi-Fi, LTE and GPS.
